WHO IS SF PARTNERING WITH FOR THE PHILANTHROPY EVENT?
The Homecoming Committee is proud to announce their philanthropy efforts for 2024 will be benefiting Children’s Health. Children’s Health is “one of the largest and most prestigious pediatric health care providers in the country and as the leading pediatric health system in North Texas.” From our efforts, we hope to brighten the lives of the patients at Children’s Health as well as support the cutting-edge, essential research being performed by the doctors there. There are three ways to get involved in our philanthropy this year!
WHAT ARE THE THREE WAYS TO GET INVOLVED?
Toy/Board Game Drive: From October 28th to November 1st, boxes will be located in the entrances of Umphrey Lee, Arnold, and The Market in Hughes-Trigg. We are accepting donations of new and unused toys, stuffed animals, board games and more, which will be directly donated to the patients of Children’s Health. Most needed items can be found here, and prohibited items are listed here.
Board Game Tournament: On October 30th, from 2:00-5:00 PM, Student Foundation is hosting a board game tournament on Dallas Hall Lawn. Organizations participating in the Homecoming festivities will have the opportunity to compete against their peers for a chance at glory- and points for the candidate of their choosing. In addition, all members of SMU’s campus are invited to Dallas Hall Lawn to enjoy an array of free-to-play board games, including jumbo-sized versions of Battleship, Connect 4, and Chess. Proceeds from the event will be donated to our fundraising efforts.
Donations: In addition to the toys and other physical donations we are collecting, we hope to raise $15,000 for Children’s Health. All money raised by Student Foundation will be used for Children’s Health’s greatest needs, which can include research, new equipment, and experiences for their patients.
