SMU Celebration of Lights Schedule

December 2, 2024: 7 - 8 PM | CEREMONY AND TREE LIGHTING

Join us for holiday music performances by some of our most talented SMU students. Students from all areas of campus will gather to perform the Christmas classics.

The night will feature ten incredibly talented student performers. Be sure to keep an eye on the Student Foundation Instagram (@sf_smu) for the reveal of all performers and their order of appearance!

After performances, President Turner will read the Christmas Story from the chapter of Luke in the Bible, an annual tradition that reminds students of the meaning of the holiday season.

To conclude the evening, there will be the last performance to join in while the lights cover Dallas Hall Lawn and the Christmas tree.

December 2, 2024: 8 - 10 PM | HOLIDAY FESTIVITIES & ACTIVITIES

Following the traditional Celebration of Light’s program, event attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of fun and festive holiday activities.

Take photos with live reindeer flown in straight from the North Pole!

Guests can model for a caricature artist and have their portrait drawn—the perfect holiday gift for a loved one.

If Christmas songs and good company are not enough to motivate you to come to celebrate the holiday spirit, we will have a variety of delicious food to enjoy and keep you warm. Who doesn’t love hot cocoa, beignets, and warm cookies?!

During the event, there will be the opportunity to donate to Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), an organization that works to provide care for and advocacy in court for neglected and/or abused children so that they can have a brighter, healthier, future.
